On January 5, 1971, famous professional boxer Sonny Liston was discovered dead in his area home by his wife. Authorities announced that the cause of his death was due to an accidental drug overdose but was opposite to what the coroner stated in the autopsy. The result of the autopsy states that there was no lethal amount of heroin present in Liston’s body. Even after the official announcement of the cause of Liston’s death, people believed that the true cause was due to murder by the mob. It was only in 2013 when the son of a dead mafia hitman revealed the true cause behind Liston’s death. He confessed in his book that it was his father who murdered Liston through forcing him into a drug overdose.
William John Brennan’s Robbery of $500,000 in Cash and Chips
William John Brennan was a sports book cashier at the casino back in September 1992. One day, he left the Stardust and took $500,000 in cash and chips with him. After robbing a large amount of money, Brennan’s whereabouts had been unknown. He had been issued an arrest warrant that charged him of 12 counts of felony theft but until now, his whereabouts were still unknown.
